Saga was first published in 1950 and has long been the principal academic history journal in Iceland. It is peer reviewed, published biannually in spring and fall, and contains articles, personal essays, reviews, and other historical material. Subscribers to Saga are also members of the Icelandic Historical Society and vice versa.
